When you have built a successful business but cannot see clearly which direction to take it next, the problem is rarely capability. It is clarity.
This business was a world leader in its field. Over thirty years it had built an enviable client list of luxury hotel groups across the globe, a reputation for technical excellence, and a product range that genuinely led its market.
But the owners had reached a point of uncertainty. The business was successful but the path forward was unclear. They knew growth was possible. They just could not see which direction to take it, or whether the business as currently structured was capable of getting there.
What we worked on
The engagement was project-based, focused on developing a clear blueprint for growth. We evaluated the market, modelled five different strategic scenarios, and stress-tested each one against investment required, return on investment, time to achieve, and the realistic capability of the business to execute.
The scenarios ranged from a base case of doing nothing to more ambitious options involving new market entry, product diversification and sales leadership investment. Each was fully costed and the challenges honestly assessed.
What changed
The owners emerged from the process with something they had not had before. Genuine clarity. Not a plan imposed from the outside, but a set of options they understood completely and could make informed decisions about.
They began implementing changes immediately. A sales director was recruited. Financial reporting was restructured. New growth opportunities were identified and actively pursued.
"Mike has continually pushed us and helped us to focus on the important activities to improve our business."
